Recap – Day of Action 2026

On Tuesday, March 10, 2026 hundreds of CIPP members at the City of Ottawa wore blue to show their support for their negotiating committee.

Ottawa Public Health nurses were showing off their CIPP lanyards at clinics across the city. Uniformed CIPP members at Emergency Protective Services wore blue CIPP shirts under their regular uniforms. Members working from home were using the CIPP background during their meetings, and many more members came to visit our tables at City Hall and Constellation to take pictures and have a coffee. It was great to see so many familiar faces and meet many new ones as well.

Ottawa City Councilors and City Manager Stephenson visited our table at City Hall on the Day of Action and saw just how many members were wearing blue and proudly supporting their bargaining committee.

Much of the success of the day is owed to the work of CIPP Connect members who stepped up to volunteer their time by coordinating participation, distributing swag, and speaking to their colleagues about bargaining.

We also wanted to thank the 100+ members who submitted their photos to our contest. Big congratulations to Shilpy Walia who won the individual prize and teams Luke Foster and Leah Champagne who won our two group prizes!

We have said before that every CIPP member has a role to play in achieving a new collective agreement that reflects the value of the work you do. When you participate in events such as the Day of Action, you are supporting your negotiating committee and demonstrating your commitment to bettering your workplace for yourself, your colleagues, and your community.

Thank you to all those who participated. There are more events coming up, so please continue to watch out for emails from “Team CIPP” or take a look at the events page of our website.
