The union is the members! Taking on a leadership role in the CIPP Board of Directors is an excellent way to contribute your energy and vision to your union.

This year CIPP members are electing 4 members employed by the City of Ottawa to two-year terms.

The CIPP Board of Directors is made up of 9 members, and elections are staggered to ensure strong institutional memory and consistency in governance. The roles of President, Vice-President, and Treasurer are voted on by the 9 elected directors.

To be a candidate in this year’s election, please submit this nomination form by 5:00 PM ET on Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

Eligible candidates for the CIPP Board of Directors elections must:

  • • Be nominated by two CIPP members
    • • You will need their names and email addresses to submit your application.
  • • Prepare a 2-minute candidate speech expressing your interest in joining the CIPP Board of Directors
    • • If your nomination is successful, you will be contacted by a member of CIPP staff to book a time to record your speech which will be shared on the website.

The election will take place online from November 9 to November 19, 2026. Resolutions, amendments to bylaws and any other business must be submitted by email to connect@cipp.on.ca by 5:00 PM ET on Monday, October 26, 2026.
