Getting Involved in Your Union: 2024 CIPP Committees
Being a CIPP committee member is an important role in union leadership.
As CIPP members across the union are more engaged and interested in union activity, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute your time, energy and perspective.
The CIPP Board works to ensure that there is a healthy mix of institutional knowledge and new ideas in the committees. So, it is a great starting point if you haven’t been involved yet in union leadership.
CIPP Scholarship Committee
The CIPP Scholarship Committee oversees the scholarship application process and will evaluate and select the 2024 scholarship recipients.
The scholarship fund was established to support the educational goals of children of CIPP members by providing financial assistance to eligible students entering any year of a full-time degree/diploma program at a Canadian post-secondary educational institution.
CIPP Member Engagement and Diversity Committee
The CIPP Member Engagement and Diversity Committee (MEDC) provides oversight and input to the development and implementation of member engagement and outreach activities. It will also provide leadership in the development of CIPP’s Justice, Equity and Diversity Strategy.
Applications for both committees are now being accepted.
The deadline to submit your application is January 29.
Members will be selected based on your experience in union and community activities as well as skills relevant to the mandate of the committee. The scholarship committee is a one-year term and MEDC is a three-year term. All committee members receive a small honorarium in appreciation of their time.
